Discover the Joy of Riding
Horse riding with RDAQ is an opportunity for people living with disability to discover freedom, confidence and joy in a safe, supportive environment. Guided by accredited coaches and supported by trained volunteers, each session is tailored to suit individual needs and goals, whether that’s building balance, learning new skills or simply enjoying the connection between rider and horse. Lessons are available for children from age three through to adults, and are offered as both group and individual sessions across our centres. With the right support, riders can progress from recreational experiences to competitive pathways in equestrian sport.
Horse riding is a proven therapeutic activity for people living with disability. It combines movement, social interaction and outdoor activity to create a powerful, holistic experience.
Strength
The natural, rhythmic movement of a horse closely mirrors the way humans walk, which helps riders strengthen their core muscles, improve posture and develop better coordination over time.
Emotional Wellbeing
Building trust and connection with a horse fosters self-confidence and resilience, while the calming presence of animals and the outdoor environment reduces stress and promotes relaxation.
Social Connection
Our riding sessions bring participants together with coaches, volunteers and fellow riders, creating friendships and a sense of belonging within a welcoming community.
