From Grassroots to Greatness

Equestrian competitions give RDAQ riders the chance to showcase their skills, build confidence and experience the thrill of achievement. While our programs begin at a grassroots level, they provide the foundation for riders to progress into local, state, national and even international competition. From mounted games to dressage, every rider is encouraged to participate, no matter their level of ability.

RDAQ coaches and volunteers support riders through preparation and training, with additional guidance from accredited RDAA coaches and para-equestrian specialists for those pursuing higher levels of competition. With opportunities ranging from local pony club shows to our annual RDAQ State Championships, competition is both an exciting goal and a powerful way for riders to grow personally and professionally.

How We Support Competition

Equestrian competition offers riders the chance to grow their skills, test themselves in new environments and celebrate achievement at every level. With RDAQ’s support, riders can progress from local events to state, national and even international competition.

Local & Grassroots Events

RDAQ encourages all riders to begin with grassroots competitions such as mounted games and dressage at their local centre. Many also join pony clubs, local shows and breed associations to build confidence in a supportive environment.

State & National Championships

Each year, RDAQ hosts the State Championships where riders from across Queensland come together for dressage and mounted games. Registered riders may also qualify for National Championships, providing recognition and exciting new challenges.

Para-Equestrian & International

For riders with elite ambitions, RDAQ supports official classification and training for para-equestrian competition. With guidance from accredited coaches, riders can progress to national, international and even Special Olympics events.
