About Us

RDA Hervey Bay has a significant positive impact on people in our community who are disabled. Our horse lessons are tailor-made for each individual and work alongside their other support networks to achieve common goals.

Our riders are assessed prior to commencing so that a suitable program may be developed for them. With the ongoing assistance of our committed  volunteers, riders with more severe disabilities are helped by up to two trained volunteers in leading the horses and side walking by our riders. Our riding programs may vary and include horse interaction, group riding, co-ordination exercises, trail rides, show activities, and games. We may often use our new under covered arena ‘The Patch’ on a rainy day. Our Centre is located in Dundowran and overseen by the Dundowran Equestrian Park Association.
