Events and Training Workshops in 2022

  Regional Training Workshops

In 2022 RDAQ is facilitating interactive workshops in 3 different locations throughout Queensland to enable as many members as possible to attend.

Each workshop is open to only RDAQ Member Centres and is designed to provide information, training and resources relevant to the needs of coaches, volunteers, horse managers and committee members delivering RDA programs.

All members are welcome to attend any of the workshops however priority will be given to participants from centres located in relevant zone.  Travel and accommodation costs will be reimbursements accordingly.

Workshops have been held in Hervey Bay and Maryborough with enthusiastic feedback from all participants.

  • South East Qld Regional Workshop at Crowson Park RDA Centre, Greenbank – program is currently being finalised.

  • 2022 RDAQ State Virtual Championships -11th July to 9th September         

Following the huge success of the 2021 RDAQ State Video Championships the event will again be held using this ‘virtual’ format. Riders competing at their own RDA centres in the following RDAQ Championship events. Nomination forms have been sent by the RDAQ State Office to each of the RDAQ Member Centres so please get your nominations in soon.

Key Information

  • The Championships will consist of both Dressage and Working Trail events.
  • Both events are designed to enable the rider to showcase their riding abilities in a competition environment.
  • The Championships will be run under current RDAA Limited Rules (2008).
  • Ribbons will be awarded to third place.
  • The RDAQ Perpetual Trophy will be awarded to the rider awarded the most points in the dressage events.
  • Definitions of terms used in the Championships are those used in the RDA Dressage Rule Book 2008
  • The Championships will be run in accordance with RDA Tests: RDAA Test Booklet 2015, the National Sports Integrity Framework and the RDAA SunSmart Policy.

Videos of the riders undertaking each test will be accepted for judging from 11th July to 9th September 2022.

The videos of all competitors will be independently assessed by international Riding for the Disabled Judges and Para-Olympian Coaches, Mary Longden and Sally Francis OAM.

Final results will be published on the RDAQ website at the end of October 2022.

Last year we saw over 100 riders representing nine RDA Centres participating in the RDAQ State Championships. It would be great to see even more riders enjoying the thrill of showing just how far their confidence and riding skills have come.
