Volunteer for our centre

Volunteers are the backbone of the Centre. There are no paid staff …. Every aspect of the Centre is carried out by volunteers. A small number of volunteers are on Centrelink approved activities but most are simply volunteers (but never just volunteers). Whilst many of our volunteers assist with the riding program, many others assist with the maintenance and general upkeep of the grounds, fences, equipment, and machinery. We have a great men’s group. Volunteers also provide lunches for riders, parents and volunteers using the clubhouse kitchen on weekdays and providing an outdoor sausage sizzle on Saturdays. We also have an efficient volunteer office staff that cover all aspects of administration. Some of our volunteers are retired people who share their years of experience with us and some are youngsters over 12 years of age, all are invaluable to our Centre.

Volunteering in the riding program

There are many ways to assist with horses at Cartmill RDA. As a volunteer you will be trained and valued and you will find working at Cartmill RDA both rewarding and informative from tacking up, caring for gear, leading horses to after a period of time training to become a coach. All our coaches are accredited through our National RDA body and the Institute of Sport.
